About the Role

1. Market Intelligence & Industry Monitoring

  • Gather, analyse, and interpret market intelligence related to fertiliser pricing, raw material

  • costs, competitor activity, regulatory changes, and agricultural trends.

  • Monitor domestic and international fertiliser market movements.

  • Identify risks and opportunities affecting supply, demand, and pricing.

  • Provide early warning reports for market disruptions or price volatility.

  • Develop actionable insights to support strategic decisions.

2. Demand Forecasting & Sales Planning

  • Build demand forecasts based on seasonality, crop cycles, historical sales, customer

  • trends, and market conditions.

  • Collaborate with sales and operations teams to align procurement and inventory with

  • forecasted demand.

  • Improve forecast accuracy to reduce overstocking and stockouts.

  • Create scenario-based forecasting models for market uncertainties.

  • Support budget planning with reliable demand projections


3. Pricing Strategy Management

  • Recommend pricing strategies balancing competitiveness and profitability.

  • Conduct elasticity and sensitivity analysis.

  • Review and adjust pricing based on cost changes and competitor positioning.


4. Margin Optimisation

  • Analyse gross margins by product, customer, and region.

  • Prevent negative-margin sales.

  • Recommend actions for low-margin or underperforming products.

5. Product Portfolio Analysis

  • Assess product performance across the portfolio.

  • Identify high-potential and declining products.

  • Support portfolio optimisation strategies.

  • Collaborate across Sales, Procurement, Finance, and Operations.

  • Serve as an independent evaluator of commercial assumptions.

  • Make sure decisions are based on data, not just intuition.

6. Supplier & Cost Analysis

  • Benchmark supplier costs and sourcing alternatives.

  • Support procurement negotiations using analytical data.


7. Reporting & Strategic Support

  • Deliver dashboards and reports covering pricing, profitability, demand trends, and

  • intelligence.

  • Present strategic recommendations to management.

  • Present monthly executive briefings on fertiliser market conditions.

  • Recommend strategic actions during price volatility.

  • Support the CEO in high-level supplier, pricing, and expansion decisions.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or

    Business-related.

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of Experience in analysing large datasets, building financial

    models, and working with competitive pricing strategies.

  • Technical Skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel (modelling, formulas) is essential, with SQL,

    Python, R, or visualisation tools (Tableau, Power BI) strongly preferred.

  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of cost accounting, revenue forecasting, and market

    research techniques in the Palm Oil Industry, Fertiliser Companies is a plus.

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to interpret complex data to make recommendations.

  • Communication: Clearly presenting findings to senior management.

  • Detail-Oriented: Ensuring accuracy in price modelling to avoid margin losses.

  • Adaptability: Proactively responding to changes in market dynamics.
