About the Role
About The Job:
As a Head of Smallholder Management in SawitPRO, you will play a pivotal role in managing a team with focus building and maintaining positive relationships with palm oil smallholders, enabling us to deliver meaningful support and resources to enhance their agricultural practices and economic opportunities. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of smallholder farming communities, excellent communication skills, and a strong commitment to social impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, coach, and mentor a team of smallholder management professionals, providing guidance, support, and feedback to help them achieve their goals.
Set clear performance targets for the smallholder management team, monitor performance against targets, and take corrective action as needed.
Develop and manage the budget, forecasting revenue and expenses to ensure financial targets are met.
Build and maintain strong relationships with smallholders, especially with our users, by providing support, guidance, and assistance to address their needs and challenges.
Provide smallholder support programs, monitor and evaluate effectiveness, collect feedback and make recommendations, on topics such as sustainable agricultural practices, financial literacy, and market access.
Stay informed about industry trends, competitive offerings, and market developments to identify new business opportunities to enhance smallholder livelihoods.
Convert leads into paying users, prepare and present solution proposals, quotes, and contracts, negotiating terms and closing deals.
Collaborate with internal teams, including demand (leads) generation / marketing, customer support, and product development, to ensure customer satisfaction and drive revenue growth.
Keep accurate records of smallholder support programs, interactions with smallholders, pipeline opportunities, and outcomes using CRM software.
Requirements
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Rural Development, Business Administration, Marketing, or any related field.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, especially with smallholders in rural areas. Proficiency in local languages spoken in rural areas is highly desirable.
Excellent negotiation and closing skills, with a focus on achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a drive to succeed in a fast-paced, competitive environment.
Previous experience of at least 3 years working with smallholder or rural communities to provide solutions for them. Palm oil smallholders are preferred.Previous experience of at least 3 years leading a high-performance team.
Deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing smallholder farmers, particularly in the areas of agriculture, livelihoods, and rural development.
